Tuesday 16:00-18:00, Dan David 204

In this seminar we will discuss data summary representation and algorithmic issues that arise in modern information systems; in particular, we will look into recent research on data structures and algorithms for effective utilization of massive data sets. Relevant application domains include

We will concentrate on works which have both theoretical and applied flavor. The students will present papers from recent proceedings of ACM SIGMOD International Conference on Management of Data, of International Conference on Very Large Databases (VLDB), and others.
No prior knowledge on databases will be assumed.

The seminar is open to Masters students as well as 3rd year students.

After an introductory meeting (17/3) we will follow the schedule given here of students presentations.
