                     Bio

                    

                      I have received my B.Sc. (1973), M.Sc. (1977), and Ph.D (1985) in Applied Mathematics from the School of                     

                      Mathematical Sciences at Tel Aviv University.  During 1977-1985 I was also the director of the systems group

                      of  the TAU Computation Center, overseeing the R&D and maintenance of the campus computational and

                      communication systems infrastructure. I was a post-doc at the Courant Institute and the Computational

                      Neuroscience labs of New York University (1986-1987).  I have joined the School (then Department) of Computer

                      Science at TAU on 1989, and was its chairman (1994 -1996).  I was a visiting professor at McGill University and             

                      University of Paris.

 

                      I served on several national committees:  Chairman of the National Committee for R&D in Information Technology

                      in the Israeli Ministry of Science (1998-2000) and Chairman of the Information Technology committee of the

                      Council for Higher Education (1998-2002), where I have initiated a number of large scale e-Learning projects at

                      the leading Israeli universities.

 

                      I was the chairman of the Israeli Association for Computer Vision and a member of the governing board of the

                      International Association for Pattern Recognition (1989-1993).

                      I was a co-founder and board member of  Top Image Systems, TapGuard, e-Mobilis and Forescout technologies.
