Professor Rafael Pass joined the Blavatnik School of Computer Science as a Full Professor on January 1, 2023, after spending almost 17 years as a faculty member at Cornell University and Cornell Tech (where he was among the first three faculty members). He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at MIT, USA. Rafael's research interests are in Cryptography and its interplay with Computational Complexity and Game Theory. Most recently, his research has focused on connections between Kolmogorov Complexity and Cryptography. He is the recipient of the NSF Career Award, a Microsoft Faculty Fellowship, an AFOSR Young Investigator Award, an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship, a Wallenberg Academy Award, a Google Faculty Award, a JP Morgan Faculty award, and is an ACM Fellow.
