Input description

In order to retrieve predicted drug interactions, you need to type or paste a list of drugs; single line per drug
Specifying one drug will retrieve all the predicted drugs interacting with it, while specifying more than one will retrieve predictions involving only the input drugs.

Accepted names:

Examples:

Isotretinoin (Generic name)
Pioglitazonum (Synonymous name)
Leptofen (Brand name)
DB00035 (DrugBank ID)

Output description

In the right pane, we list information regarding the input drugs. Drugs which do not appear in our list, or are unrecognized are highlighted.
Following are list of predicted drug-drug interactions, if such predicted interactions exist.

Examples:

Inserting the input examples above (names only, not the specification in parentheses) produces the following output:

The following drugs appear in our set and were checked for predicted DDIs:
User input name Generic name Description (DrugBank)
PioglitazonumPioglitazone Pioglitazone is used for the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2. Pioglitazone selectively stimulates nuclear receptor peroxisone proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-gamma). It modulates the transcription of the insulin-sensitive genes involved in the control of glucose and lipid metabolism in the lipidic, muscular tissues and in the liver.
IsotretinoinIsotretinoin Isotretinoin is a medication used for the treatment of severe acne. It is sometimes used in prevention of certain skin cancers. It is a retinoid, meaning it derives from vitamin A and is found in small quantities naturally in the body. Isotretinoin binds to and activates nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RAR), thereby regulating cell proliferation and differentiation. This agent also exhibits immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory responses and inhibits ornithine decarboxylase, thereby decreasing polyamine synthesis and keratinization.
DB00035Desmopressin Desmopressin is a chemical that is similar to Antidiuretic Hormone (ADH) which is found naturally in the body. It increases urine concentration and decreases urine production. Desmopressin is used to prevent and control excessive thirst, urination, and dehydration caused by injury, surgery, and certain medical conditions, allowing you to sleep through the night without awakening to urinate. It is also used to treat specific types of diabetes insipidus and conditions after head injury or pituitary surgery.
LeptofenDroperidol A butyrophenone with general properties similar to those of haloperidol. It is used in conjunction with an opioid analgesic such as fentanyl to maintain the patient in a calm state of neuroleptanalgesia with indifference to surroundings but still able to cooperate with the surgeon. It is also used as a premedicant, as an antiemetic, and for the control of agitation in acute psychoses. (From Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 29th ed, p593)
