Thomas wrote extensively in English, German and Czech (his native language ). For years, he claimed that his photography and writing were not meant for publication, since he had no need for an audience, and he would continue to write and photograph even if no-one would be interested in the result. Later on, it seemed that he began to enjoy the possibility that others would come to know his work. But even then, what mainly interested him were the reactions of other artists and not of "occasional observers".
A collection of his Czech poems was published after his death.
Here are some of his English poems, unedited. The selection is arbitrary and small, but in the future, we hope to enlist the help of a poet, for selection and editing, so that more of his poems can be made available.
