Title: Text Understanding via Textual Entailment.

Text understanding systems can improve the performance of many
applications such as Question Answering, Machine Translation,
Automatic Summarization, Information Extraction, etc.

In this talk I will present the textual entailment framework, which
aims to uniformly address the problem of text understanding and
semantic inference over natural language. I will define the textual
entailment task and demonstrate a specific approach that confronts
this challenge. In addition, I will show an algorithm that uses
textual entailment for machine translation, and an algorithm that
automatically learns textual entailment inference rules.
