TAU CS Thesis Format Guide

  1. Paper: A4; double-sided
  2. Margins: top=bottom=30mm, left (inner)=35mm, right (outer)=30mm, headsep=20pt (nothing may extend into margins)
  3. Headings and footer exactly as in sample
  4. Font: Times or Computer Modern throughout
  5. Spacing: 1.5 lines
  6. Title pages exactly as in sample, using TAU logo
  7. First paragraph of section is not indented; others are
  8. All chapter, section and subsection headings: Title case (see sample)
  9. No extra inter-paragraph spacing
  10. Only number equations that are referred to
  11. Number definitions, theorems, lemmas, etc. consecutively throughout thesis
  12. Use end of proof marker
  13. Captions below figures and tables (see sample)
  14. Use the same font in all figures and tables as in the main text
  15. Citations: list of numbers in square brackets
  16. Footnotes, not endnotes
  17. Bibliography: sorted alphabetically, numbered, full names, include links (and date viewed) to online versions, whenever they exist
  18. Appendices (if any): before Bibliography
  19. Include links for all cross-references
  20. Include tables of contents, figures, etc.
